John A. Griner, III begins his first full season as Chairman of the Board of Directors, having been a member since 1999. A graduate and former faculty member at Harvard Business School, Mr. Griner
brings great knowledge and dedication to The New York Pops. Of the orchestra and its founder Skitch Henderson, Mr. Griner remarks: “I have come to realize how fundamentally important musical
integrity is to this marvelous group of professionals, and how much Skitch Henderson helped shape that part of its character.”

Mr. Griner retired as Managing Partner with Landmark Partners, Inc. in 2001, and is currently on the boards of The New Milford Hospital, the New England Air Museum, and Bull’s Bridge Golf Club. He resides with his wife Margaret in New Preston, CT.

The New York Pops led by conductor Jeff Tyzik performed a program packed of big band and film music on August 17, 2006 in Bryant Park. A pre-concert benefit supper at the Bryant Park Grill
was organized by board members Gordon DuGan and Jeff Sohm.

The audience topped 5,000 on August 17, 2006 for The New York Pops free Summermusic concert, The Sound of Movies and More, in Bryant Park.
