Dinner Dance to follow at the Plaza Hotel
Honoring Interpublic Group and Celebrating the Legacy of Bob Hope
The New York Pops 28th Birthday Gala was an evening to celebrate! The May 2 gala celebrated the legacy of Bob Hope and honored Interpublic Group with a star-studded performance at Carnegie Hall.
Performers included Jamie Barton, Tyne Daly, Matt Dengler, Tony DeSare, Christine Ebersole, Gregg Edelman, Maurice Hines, Aaron Lazar, Michele Lee, Kelli O’Hara, Randy Redd, Zak Resnick, Ryan Silverman, Cartier Williams and Tom Wopat. Angela Lansbury made a special appearance to introduce a clip of her performing with Bob Hope, and Michael Feinstein surprised the audience with "Thanks for the Memory."
The concert also featured children the Camp Broadway Kids, the Ronald McDonald House, and Salute to Music, The New York Pops' free music lesson program. The West Point Glee Club made a touching tribute to Bob Hope's USO tours. The Carnegie Hall audience was nearly filled to capacity and post-concert dinner dance was attended by 350 guests at The Plaza Hotel.
