The New York Pops 27th Birthday Gala was an evening to celebrate! The May 3 gala, entitled "The Best Is Yet to Come," celebrated the legacy of Frank Sinatra with a star-studded performance at Carnegie Hall. The concert was conducted by Music Director Steven Reineke and hosted by Liz Smith with special guest Frank Sinatra, Jr. paying homage to his father. Performers included Michael Cerveris, Tony DeSare, Michael Feinstein, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Montego Glover, Cheyenne Jackson, Norm Lewis, John Pizzarelli, Haley Swindal, John Tartaglia, Steve Tyrell, and Michael Urie. The concert also featured children from the Young People's Chorus of New York City, the Ronald McDonald House, and Salute to Music, The New York Pops' free music lesson program. The concert was sold-out with 2,804 in the Carnegie Hall audience. The post-concert dinner dance was attended by 350 guests at The Plaza Hotel. Proceeds from the 27th Birthday Gala benefit The New York Pops and its Education Programs.
